Living in or visiting
a country does not mean that you can effectively absorb the language nor become
completely in tune with the culture. However, there is a place to go to: International House Porto where you can
learn Portuguese using modern methods and technology in an environment of
guided immersion.
You will be
challenged to learn the language and use it, learning goals will be set with
you and you might be working with others who are also taking their first steps
in becoming independent Portuguese language speakers.
Classroom instruction
includes chances for field excursions, practical tasks of everyday life, music,
culture and, of course, grammar practice.
Bring grammar and
vocabulary to life and feel empowered, knowing that you, too, can learn

Programme options:
1:1 or in small closed groups
a) One week – Mornings – 2 hours each session. Total 10
hours
b) Two weeks – Mornings – 2 hours each session. Total 20
hours
c) Intensive Two week course - Mornings and Afternoons –
2.5 hours per session. Total 50 hours
In open groups – July, August and September
a) Two weeks – Mornings – 2 hours each session. Total 20
hours
b) Four weeks – Mornings – 2 hours each session. Total 40
hours.

Our teachers are very
friendly and patient, and when you finish you will really get the sense that
you can interact in Portuguese, not only able to understand spoken and written
Portuguese but quite capable of producing language to make yourself and your
