Are you an adult who needs English for work?

We have year long courses at five levels: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1 - basically, from Beginner to Advanced

Do you want to improve your language skills in any of the following:

* Travelling
* Socializing
* Making first contact with foreigners
* Sending e-mails
* Applying for a job, CV, covering letter, interview questions and how to reply
* Presenting information and leading a meeting

At IH Porto we set you realistic goals and tasks and you evaluate your own progress and achievement because you have your own language portfolio to show the results of language development.

You will use internet tools to research work relevant to the target language you want. Often it is you who chooses the content specifics.

If you want to obtain a diploma of proficiency in English, we have a comprehensive range of courses to choose from:
University of Cambridge ESOL main suite examinations, PET, FCE, CAE + CPE, Business English Certificates – BEC Preliminary + Vantage, IELTS and ILEC ( International Legal English Certificate)

Also, we train candidates for the TOEFL and GMATexaminations.

This is one of our specialist areas. We believe in providing a happy, secure environment for children so that in “learn by doing” lessons language comes to the children in the most natural and enjoyable way. Imaginative explorations in learning is what we promise for children.

Come to Porto and Learn Portuguese!

Our teachers are very kind and professional, and Porto is a lovely city. You may have your own preferences but a popular choice with clients is a 2 week study period, lessons scheduled for the mornings, afternoons free for exploring the city and surroundings.

We have our own in-house course for teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language and can devise courses according to client specifics either for a study period at the school or externally at a client´s office.

Do you have any professional needs to learn any of these languages?

Courses run periodically throughout the year at the school and in companies. We also organize intensive, content specific courses for clients.

You are welcome to do any of our on-line language tests, and if you come to the school or call for a consultancy at your work place, we shall be happy to assess your knowledge and performance level in the target language, followed up by advice on the next steps to take. The service is free.
